Agfa Ansco Super Regent
AKA Agfa Super Solinette
I bought this camera on the big auction site. I've bought lots of
stuff there.
This is the first time I ever considered that I'd
been had. Advertised as good working condition
and excellent
cosmetics, I figured it was a fair deal for the price paid. Well,
it looks ok on
the
outside, but not excellent. I don't care much about looks
though. I don't buy shelf queens,
and if it was
working, that would be good. It wasn't. It is now though,
by golly.
Took a near complete tear down to get it in shape.
After cleaning and adjusting the film advance mechanism, stuck
rangefinder,
non functional slow shutter speeds
and self timer and freeing the frozen focus,
I'm now able to make use of this Solinar lens. It's aTessar
type. Nice.
No lever advance for the film, but the wind knob is very smooth in use,
and bringing the next film frame up is quicker than it may seem.
There
is a double exposure prevention, and you have to cock the shutter for
each
shot, but after about one roll of film it becomes second nature.
Fiddle Creek orchard. The orchard comes to a point, and where the
land
is not suited for trees the owner has rented a small space for this
billboard.
Fiddle Creek fruit stand. This family has been here a long time,
and sells
all manner of fresh fruit during the warm months.
This old house has been here a long, long time. That tree that
looks like
it is growing through the roof, is growing through the roof.
Who'd a thought I'd have a picture of a barn here.
This is a genuine Idaho planter
car. Kind of like the
planter
toilets folks put in their front yards for marigolds.
These people didn't want bathroom fixtures in their front yard.
I can't remember what the
stuff on the right is.
Some kind of
bloomin' yellow thing. I just put
it here to tick off the folks
that still have winter.
Spring is early this year. Way
early.
Salmon River. Well, a really small part of it.
I take pictures of this lantern a lot. I use it when I need to
test something
like a new film or the focus on a lens. I think the focus is ok.
This is a rock crib. Some farmers still use them to anchor the
corner post of a fence
line. This is a decent one, far as looks go. Some are made
of interleaved timbers that
look kind of neat. Some are just a big loop of hog wire chunked
full of small boulders.
